2Description
Roll Authority is a spaceflight and logistics game about evacuating a doomed planet: design rockets part by part, fly them on real orbital mechanics, and build the supply chain that gets a whole world off the ground.
Høm is dying, and everyone on it has to leave. In Roll Authority you are the agency responsible for getting them out - one launch at a time.
Rockets are assembled part by part: tanks, engines, decouplers and cargo modules stacked and mounted in symmetry, with staging arranged by hand. They fly on real orbital mechanics. Apoapsis and periapsis, transfer windows, time warp and landings on other worlds all follow the physics, not a script.
Under the hood it runs on Unity DOTS. Every craft, part and world is lean data; trajectory prediction, orbit lines and background flight are compiled to native code by Burst; and craft you aren't flying ride exact Keplerian orbits outside the physics world - so dozens of ships keep flying on a trickle of compute.
But a rocket is only the start. Lifting mass off Høm is the hardest thing in the game, so the real work is the supply chain: survey worlds from orbit, mine and refine what you find, carry it in cargo holds that weigh out or cube out, and build the outposts, refineries and depots that turn every launch into fuel for the next. Every structure costs its own mass in metal, and every kilogram has to come from somewhere.
And the crisis does not stay on Høm. What killed the homeworld travels with the evacuees, so every world settled becomes the next to empty - until humanity builds a ship that can leave the system for good.
3Features
- 1Part-by-part rocket assembly with stacking, radial symmetry and drag-and-drop staging
- 2Real Keplerian orbital mechanics - transfer windows, time warp, landings
- 3A full supply chain: survey, mine, refine, carry, build and fuel
- 4Cargo holds limited by mass and by volume - rations cube out, metal weighs out
- 5Real propellant chemistry - tanks hold real densities and engines burn real mixtures
- 6A solar system of worlds, each with its own resources
- 7A hand-made cut-paper art style
- 8Built for mods: parts are plain data files
- 9Built on Unity DOTS - entities, Burst-compiled jobs and on-rails orbits keep dozens of ships flying on a trickle of compute
- 10Fused tanks: stack tank sections to the size you need and they fly as one tank on a single physics body
5History
Roll Authority began on September 6, 2026 at Evora Development Studios as a question: what if the hardest part of space exploration - getting mass off the ground - were the whole game? It grew from a rocket builder into a full logistics simulation, with a solar system of worlds to survey, mine and settle.
Five weeks after the first line of code, the free demo released on itch.io on October 10, 2026, with early access to follow on Steam.
Its look is a deliberate turn away from realism: every planet, ship and module is rendered as cut construction paper, a hand-made diorama of a desperate exodus.
